Anxiety

So, I figure this won’t be so much a blog post as a diary entry…

Winter is hard for Home Improvement salesmen.  Especially difficult when the major company for which salesmen sell decides to break up with salesmen.  I am literally counting pennies.  The IRS got paid this month, before the rent.  Thank the good Lord for the sweetest, most patient and understanding landlord ever.  I paid a portion of the already behind electric bill, and I’m afraid to pay any on the gas bill because we have so little left in the bank.  I am the accountant of the house, by default-since all things house and house-keeping are my responsibility, so I feel responsible even though it’s really no one’s fault.  I left my job 2 years ago to take care of feeding my child with severe food allergies.  Having straightened out his health, I suppose I should get back to earnin’.

Right now I’m looking around for anything that might be sale-able that we could live without.  Unfortunately, we haven’t ever lived high on the hog, and since I’m seriously thrifty we have thrift store and otherwise used stuff.

Poor hubby is out trying hard to make it happen.  I have faith in him, and faith in God who loves us.  I just need to breathe.  This too shall pass.

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. …

Let’s Try This Again

A few or four or more years ago I thought I’d resume blogging after the super-easy site that I had used for blogging changed in a way that kicked me and all my favorite bloggers off.  That writing never really took off, although every so often I was inspired to memorialize in print some event or other that so inspired me.

But I know that writers WRITE, and so here I am, with a renewed dedication to doing just that.  I do not have a clear vision for this site; it will become what it will become organically.  I do know that I have a passion for logic, order, and thrift so these will likely become favorite subject matter.

What I’m working on today: loading product pictures onto my Etsy page, spending a moment or 15 reading the bible and praying, and working on a plan to get some more money into our house.

First step taken.  Hasta manana.
